The 2023 Ford F-150 and the Toyota Tacoma are both available in several cab styles. The Tacoma offers an Access Cab and a larger Double Cab with its seating capacity ranging from four to five passengers.

If you’re looking for an extra dose of efficiency to go with all that power, you can choose a hybrid powertrain. It’s only available with the Ford F-150. The available 3.5L PowerBoost™ Full Hybrid V6 boasts 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque. The Toyota Tacoma is only available with traditional gas-powered engines.

The Ford F-150 has a maximum towing capacity of 14,000 pounds when properly equipped, which far outmatches the 6,800-pound maximum towing capacity of the Tacoma. If you have a trailer full of heavy lumber that needs to be transported, the Ford F-150 is your best bet.

You’ll find a similar difference in the payload capabilities of each truck as well. The Toyota Tacoma can only handle a maximum 1,685-pound payload capacity when properly equipped. If you plan on filling the truck bed with a lot more, you’ll want to turn to the F-150. It boasts a maximum payload capacity of 3,325 pounds.
